Bing Maps

They just keep pushin' the envelope don't they ! I mentioned Google Street View previously, but now Bing's version of the maps has a nice "birds eye view" feature. See the nice detail.
Also, the Birds Eye view can be rotated. It's getting harder to hide...

Currency Weirdness

...got a Costco Magazine yesterday. The Honeywell 1000 watt generator is going to be "$100 off" next month. Sounds good, but our dollar is worth about 95 cents U.S. today. How come there's such a drastic price difference in this product, depending on whether you go to costco.ca or costco.com ???
Here it is at the Canadian Costco site:

 Here's the American Costco page:

All of a sudden, that $100 off coupon is not so attractive anymore is it ??

Coleman Gadget revisited

After mentioning this HERE, I was wandering through Canadian Tire approaching a particular camping display pegboard, when my eyes fell upon a "Clearance" price tag. Could it be? Yes it could...Coleman Stove propane converter gizmo..CHECK !! (I'm glad I held onto that $30 gift Card that a certain beloved brother-in-law bestowed upon me during Christmas)...
Observant "eyes" will be able to deduce from the above photo, that I was not content to just buy one :)

Habs still hanging on...

A horrible weekend, apathetic performances, and a little luck saw Montreal fall from sixth to eight place. Philly pummeled them twice. Luckily, they go into the break clinging to the last playoff spot, just one point ahead of the Lightning and the Rangers, and two points ahead of Atlanta. Not looking good, but we press on  :)

Winter's 2nd Half...

A fairly cold last half of January meant that I went through quite a bit of wood. Just to be safe, I had some replenishment delivered. I wonder will this satisfy the valentine desires for warmth and ambiance ?
Probably not :(

Hangin' on

Things are still ok for now. After winning two of the last three, the Habs are still in sixth place. Two more games before the break, both against Philadelphia. As long as they don't lose both...
Notice the beloved Leafs are back where they belong...snicker...

Little by little..

...Montreal has edged into 6th in the East. Let's see how long they can stay there. Five more games before the Olympic break. Go Habs !!

The back and forth for the Habs continues...

This was the outlook prior to the game tonight:
After the game, Montreal went from 11th to 7th...woohoo !!

The Suzuki SX4 returns...$7200 later...

After about a month of downtime, she's back, and not looking too shabby. I think I'll be taking it back for a bit of fine tuning. They stole my floor-mats etc, but nothing to get mad about :) Here's the before shot:

And here's some "after" shots:

This is my first encounter into the strange world of automobile insurance, and like many, I'm guilty of not reading the fine print. For example, it took about a month to get the car assessed, get all the parts in, and finish all of the work.Even then, the grille didn't arrive, but they stole/borrowed one from a new car on the lot. My policy only allowed for a maximum car rental of $900, and at the "special" rate of $36.95 a day, that foolishness lasted about 21 days. That meant that I had to cough up for another 10 days or so. It's problematic of course, in that predicting the amount of time required is a bit of a crap shoot. Do you rent by the day, by the week ? All in all, it's better to not have an accident...duh !

IVECO...

This beauty has been roaming around Central Newfoundland lately. I just grabbed some photos of it for fun...
