It is fitting that I pause and remember my Father, who served in World War II as a member of the 59th Royal Artillery Regiment. I know very little about this period of his life, as he rarely spoke if it, at least to me. As I understand it, they remained in England defending the south coast from invasion until July of 1944, when they were deployed to France to take part in the battle of Normandy. I did manage to find some photos taken overseas though:
