...had just settled down for a long winter's...

Not yet, but almost. Christmas Eve has only a few minutes left. The kids are indeed nestled in their beds, and we'll soon be following suit. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night...

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

School Christmas Concert

We took in the elementary school Christmas Concert last night. The theme was "Christmas in England", a clever way of preserving some of the more traditional "elements" that tend to get sidetracked by the politically "correct" fervor of the oversensitive. (how's that for a mouthful). Since anything Christmas still delights my child-like disposition to no end, I was thrilled to see the children from the various grades belting out Once in Royal David's City, Joy to the world, and other "Christ-in-Christmas" selections. May God bless them...everyone !!

Wood Junky

Today was a really nice sunny, crisp, and windless day. A great day to be puttering around outside...got another cord of wood delivered this morning. By buying it already cut and split, I don't really save alot of money, but with oil prices around 65 cents a litre, it's nice to have some redundant comfort. There's about half a cord in the photo below (with the child slave labour). The rest ended up in the basement...
I think I'm addicted to burning wood...maybe I should seek out "Firewood Anonymous"...my name is Tom and I'm a Woodaholic :)
