I just had to post this one. What a rotten thing to have happen. Thankfully nobody was hurt. This van belong(ed) to the owner of The Bus Depot.

Winter Survival
...had an opportunity to volunteer with James' Grade 6 class, and go to the Musquodoboit Valley Education Centre for a dose of winter survival training. A nice crisp -15c day, fire starting, shelter building etc...see more photos here...

She's frigid !!
Wreckhouse...
That notorious stretch of TCH near Port-aux-Basques, where when the wind blows, it blows ! See the Table Mountains Blog for some shots of a tractor trailer that could not quite stay "stuck"...wild.

SuperNiece to the Rescue
OK so I've always been a traditional Coleman fan, especially of the old white gas/naptha stoves. The pyromaniac in me is tickled by the prospect of carrying a little green bomb/explosive device/briefcase legally, but I digress. Anyway, in the never-ending quest for miniaturization I have been eying the RoadTrip Party Grill. I am sure I have seen them locally, but was not able to find one. then I noticed that they appeared on Coleman's U.S. website, but not on their Canadian one...strange. Not sure why that is...safety concern?? Not likely since the ridiculous Coleman propane Deep Fryer is there for the taking (note to self: increase Lipitor dosage accordingly). Really though...that's all we need on our next camping trip; a propane deep fryer.
Short story longer: My niece sent me just what I wanted, as a Christmas gift all the way from Hawaii. The Coleman Roadtrip Party Grill. A million thank-yous Kim. Send the bill to Debbie please...test report to follow...[note to other gift giving family members: this is the only gift that I really appreciated...heh...heh...]

Hosting Woes
Ok, I know I said that I was going to host this site from home, but my buddy Greg convinced me to have Blogger/Google do it for me. So, with his help, I've managed (I think) to get it going after much wailing. Greg blames the problems on my domain registrar, but I think much of it is me :)
time will tell...and thanks Greg!
